Wedding bells For Rakhi Sawant, Baba Ramdev?

Rakhi Sawant is no stranger to controversy. But has she gone too far, this time? Sawant has gone on record as saying that she would like to marry Baba Ramdev, the yoga guru, who was recently in the news for his fast against corruption.

Clearly, Rakhi wishes to rewrite Indian mythology, and sees herself in the form of a modern-day “Menaka” seeking to break “Vishwamitra” Ramdev’s penance.

Sawant, a Bollywood actress and TV personality, revealed her secret desire, at a promotional event, in New Delhi. If her account is to be believed, Ramdev’s yoga sessions have made a huge positive difference to Sawant’s life, to the extent that it has engendered a deep desire in her to set up house, with the good baba. In her statement to the press, the controversy queen also expressed her admiration for Rahul Gandhi, who, incidentally, is another eligible bachelor.

Sawant’s roster of controversies is growing by the day, whether it is her shenanigans on Bigg Boss, or her naughty videos, or her abrupt walking out of Salman Khan’s Nach Baliye, all serving to add to her much-publicized romance with TV personality Abhishek Awasthi, and her kissing controversy, with singer Mika.

The publicity overdrive has worked to boost Sawant’s career; she recently got a break in Karan Johar’s Koffee With Karan, a chat show that’s much sought after, by wannabe guests from Tinseltown.

Sawant has spent the last 12 months or so, raking up, or trying to rake up, new controversies on her Rakhi Ka Insaaf, another reality/ horror show.

Her crowning glory came with Rakhi ka Swayamwar, aired on NDTV Imagine, where she “chose” her groom (incidentally, nobody knows where that “groom” is, now). Baba Ramdev should give this last fact careful consideration before he decides whether or not to accept Rakhi Sawant’s proposal, if she has made it, or is in the processing of making one. Bhago Baba, Bhago, Varna Rakhi Sawant Tapasya Bhang Kar Degi!!!

Somehow, at SportingAttitude, we get the feeling that “Vishwamitra” Ramdev will feel much safer, doing sheersasan*, on his remote Scottish island, than in the Indian jungle, with “Menaka” Rakhi Sawant on the prowl. (*Note for the uninitiated: In yoga, sheersasan = standing on one’s head)

But were this Indian tigress to succeed in ensnaring her luncheon baba, all we can do is bless her with an “Ashta Putra Vati Bhava!!!”
